Much Need Assistance for Ian Robertson

Kevin James of Country Bird Holdings has generoulsy upgraded Ian’s Medical Aid – to assist with his medication costs, and Kevin is to be commended by all our sporting fraternity for his support.

Born on the 28th April 1950 in Harare (Salisbury), Zimbabwe. He went to Prince Edward School in Harare.

He was part of the infamous (then Rhodesian) team of the 70’s and together with Ray Mordt formed an exceptional combination in the great Rhodesian teams of this era who played in the Currie Cup

His Test Debut on 23rd November 1974 was in Toulouse against France and his last Test was in September 1976, he played Full Back against the All Blacks at Ellis Park.

Ian subsequently moved to Cape Town and represented Western Province and Villager Rugby Club.

Acknowledged as one of the fittest players to play rugby for South Africa and was a brilliant play makes in any position on the backline.

Ian is currently overseas undergoing a series of tests in a effort to find a treatment that mayo ffer some relief. Our thoughts are with Ian and his family at this very difficult time.
